Gardens may be yards, balconies, allotments, courtyards, productive beds, formal landscapes or most of the outdoor area around a home. We cover practical planning, plant choice, soil and water, food growing, seasonal care, wildlife, accessibility and the everyday pleasure of spending time in the garden.
International by design
Seasonal guidance is organized by conditions such as warming, heat, cooling, frost, rainfall and dormancy. Northern and Southern Hemisphere dates differ, while tropical, dry-summer and humid climates may follow wet and dry seasons rather than four equal seasons.
How the site was rebuilt
This publication combines and replaces two older WordPress sites: Making a Nice Garden and Gardening Year Round. Repetitive short articles were consolidated into a larger, structured guide library. Older published URLs are redirected to the closest relevant replacement.
